POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Vice President of Enterprise Applications will take charge of the deployment and upkeep of organization-wide applications and systems that bolster our operational framework. A significant aspect of this role involves ensuring the ongoing functionality, accessibility, health, and maintenance of the financial processing systems utilized by the credit union, which includes core banking and associated systems, collectively termed as the 'core'. This role will also supervise the domains of Digital Platforms (SalesForce, SharePoint) and Database Management (Oracle, MS-SQL). The Senior Vice President will direct the efforts of three distinct teams and their respective professionals, working in conjunction with stakeholders to harness technological expertise aimed at fostering innovation, enhancing operational efficiency, and refining business processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Formulate and implement a strategic vision for enterprise applications that aligns with the organization's objectives, facilitating business growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation efforts.

2. Lead and oversee a team of professionals tasked with the deployment, customization, and support of enterprise applications. Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure the successful execution of application projects and their ongoing maintenance.

3. Supervise the management and enhancement of the organization's application portfolio. Evaluate the relevance and efficiency of existing applications, identify opportunities for consolidation or retirement, and propose new applications to address changing business requirements.

4. Manage relationships with enterprise application vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee service level agreements (SLAs). Monitor vendor performance, assess new technologies and solutions, and drive innovation and cost efficiency.

5. Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define application requirements, ensuring that the development or customization of enterprise applications meets business needs. Oversee the application lifecycle, ensuring compliance with quality standards, best practices, and project timelines.

6. Develop and execute strategies for the seamless integration of enterprise applications, ensuring data integrity, process efficiency, and interoperability across systems. Work with IT teams and business stakeholders to define integration requirements and oversee the implementation of integration solutions.

7. Establish processes and resources for application support and maintenance, including incident resolution, problem management, and enhancement requests. Ensure effective communication, timely responses, and resolution of application-related issues.

8. Create governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards in application development, customization, and usage.

9. Cultivate strong partnerships with business units and stakeholders, understanding their needs, priorities, and challenges. Collaborate to identify opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and leveraging enterprise applications to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

10. Lead change management initiatives related to enterprise applications, ensuring smooth transitions, user adoption, and training efforts. Facilitate communication, provide guidance, and address user concerns during application changes or upgrades.

11. Develop and manage the enterprise applications budget, ensuring cost-effective resource utilization and alignment with organizational priorities. Monitor expenditures, forecast future needs, and optimize resource allocation.

12. Establish monitoring and performance measurement mechanisms to track the performance, availability, and reliability of enterprise applications. Analyze metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance application performance and user experience.

13. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executive leadership, IT departments, business units, and external partners, to understand business needs and ensure enterprise applications align with strategic objectives.

14. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in enterprise applications. Continuously evaluate and enhance application solutions, architecture, and processes to meet evolving business needs and maintain high user satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills:

1. A minimum of 4 - 6 years of professional experience in a leadership role overseeing enterprise application functions, including database and SharePoint administration.

2. Experience within a financial institution with knowledge or expertise in core banking and ancillary applications or systems.

3. Strong understanding of enterprise application technologies, trends, and best practices.

4. Comprehensive knowledge of application development methodologies, frameworks, and tools.

5. Experience in managing and optimizing application portfolios in a complex organizational environment.

6. Strong understanding of application integration principles and technologies.

7. Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve business goals.

8. Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.

9. Solid knowledge of governance frameworks and regulatory compliance related to enterprise applications.

10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and recommend effective application solutions.

11. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. A minimum of a BA/BS in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
