About the Role

The University of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and supervising electrical projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for new and existing buildings, including electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, and control systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of electrical engineers and technicians, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including architecture, engineering, and construction, to ensure that electrical systems are integrated into building designs.
  • Develop and implement electrical design standards and guidelines, ensuring that they are consistent with industry best practices and University of Georgia policies.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect electrical systems and ensure that they are functioning properly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably in a university or institutional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC) and the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
