Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from registration to discharge. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively gather and verify patient information, including demographic and insurance details. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identity and select the correct patient record
  • Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for the appropriate service
  • Scan and verify important documents, such as insurance cards and ID's
  • Enter patient demographic and insurance information into the electronic health record
  • Explain and collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience
Requirements
  • Two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of experience
  • Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
