Furthermore, we collaborate with local institutions to provide additional services such as wheelchair assessments, medical equipment evaluations, orthotics, hearing aids, feeding therapy, and dental screenings.

The role of the Occupational Therapist encompasses assessment, treatment planning, implementation, education, and leadership to meet the needs of patients and their families. This position requires expertise in caring for infants, children, adolescents, and potentially senior patients, ensuring their physical and developmental needs are met. The Occupational Therapist will adhere to established standards of care while guiding support staff to achieve patient-centered goals. Responsibilities

Care Management
* Provide appropriate oversight to support personnel (OTAs, technicians, students) while ensuring patient care responsibilities are met.

Participate actively in patient and family team conferences.

Assess the need for follow-up outpatient therapy and make recommendations post-discharge.

Documentation
* Maintain accurate electronic medical records that reflect a coherent flow of data, actions taken, and patient responses.

Develop and document specific strategies to address identified learning needs of patients.

Identify and address the learning needs of patients, families, and relevant stakeholders.

Present information clearly and appropriately for the understanding of patients and families.

Implement treatment plans and evaluate patient responses during therapy sessions.

Contribute to the development of individualized discharge plans that consider patient and family concerns.

Adapt treatment plans based on ongoing assessments.

Ensure documentation is completed in accordance with departmental policies.

Education
* Serve as a resource for peers within the rehabilitation department, providing mentorship and educational opportunities.

Act as a liaison to other departments and the community, offering guidance and educational resources.

Patient Care
* Review patient histories and relevant data prior to evaluations.

Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with established medical guidelines.

Assist patients and families in planning for safe discharges.

Compliance/Safety
* Report safety-related incidents promptly and participate in safety training programs.

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies affecting the role.

Maintain all required certifications and licenses in good standing.

Complete mandatory training and job-specific modules within designated timeframes.

Ensure timely and accurate charge submissions according to established procedures.

Meet productivity expectations as defined by departmental standards.

Attend a minimum of 75% of departmental meetings over a 12-month period.

Respond promptly to new orders in line with departmental policies.

Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards impacting patient care and safety.

Ensure comprehensive preparation for departmental meetings, including reviewing minutes and materials.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy - Required

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy - Preferred

Certification & Licensures
Current Arizona state license - Required
BLS certification (American Heart Association) - Required upon hire.

Employees must maintain appropriate clinical competencies as designated by their departmental leader.

Experience
Experience in clinical documentation - Preferred
