About the Position:

The Security Operations Engineer 2 (SOE2) is an integral part of the Security Operations Team, providing top-tier Arctic Wolf security services. The SOE2 nurtures the technical relationship with assigned clients, utilizing their skills and knowledge to fulfill essential duties.

As a Security Operations Engineer 2, your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining a robust partnership with clients;
  • Facilitating the direct provision of Arctic Wolf network and endpoint security solutions, including investigating security incidents, configuring, troubleshooting, and validating data sources;
  • Addressing or escalating client inquiries for guidance, information, or support promptly, including coordinating efforts with other teams as necessary;
  • Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders.
The SOE2 role encompasses elements of an IT Security Analyst, a Security Architect, and an Incident Response Consultant. A successful SOE2 possesses a strong technical foundation and the ability to communicate, educate, and share information effectively with individuals who may not have a technical background.

Your qualifications may include:
  • 1-5 years of experience in a hands-on security role with a solid understanding of security architecture;
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent certifications and experience;
  • Strong skills in building partnerships and relationships in a professional environment;
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal;
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Additional skills and experience may encompass:
  • Proficiency with security testing and forensics tools;
  • Experience in malware analysis;
  • Knowledge of scripting or coding;
  • Incident response expertise;
  • Familiarity with authentication and identity management;
  • Understanding of risk management, assessment, and common compliance frameworks;
  • Experience in penetration testing and attack simulation.
