Job Summary

Caribe Royale is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician 2 to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and other routine work in and around the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Conduct repairs of physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure methods, materials, and practices meet company standards, local and national codes.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Repair hotel guest rooms as assigned under the preventative maintenance program.
  • Report Equipment Issues: Report broken or misused equipment to the Engineering Manager or Director.
  • Ensure Safety Systems: Ensure that safety systems are operable and follow Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the maintenance of the department's inventory by reporting needed supplies.
  • Chemical Handling and Safety: Knowledge of Safety Data Sheet, product labeling, proper storing, and handling of materials.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in a hotel or directly related industry.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate in the English language (second language is a plus), knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques, and use of equipment/machinery, ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends, including overnight shifts, and ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds, and must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F).
