Position Overview

This position entails overseeing a variety of human resources initiatives, processes, and projects within the designated business unit. The role is pivotal in administering HR policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with the operational needs of the business. The focus is on fostering equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a consultant to supervisors and managers, ensuring adherence to legal standards and addressing personnel issues.
  • Provide leadership support to achieve departmental goals through regular one-on-one meetings and participation in staff gatherings.
  • Address routine employee relations concerns and escalate complex issues to senior HR leadership as necessary.
  • Act as a resource for both managers and employees to ensure clarity and compliance with HR policies and regulations.
  • Keep management informed of potential challenges and propose/implement effective solutions.
  • Assist employees and management with inquiries related to benefits, terminations, policy interpretation, and other HR services.
  • Maintain internal HR databases, including tracking sheets and performance logs.
  • Collaborate with employees and management to interpret HR policies, procedures, laws, and government regulations.
  • Facilitate communication of changes to employees and conduct presentations as required.
  • Engage in staff meetings and enhance knowledge across all HR disciplines through various training methods.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding onboarding, employment, employee relations, and terminations.
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations; prepare detailed reports and recommendations for remedial actions as needed.
  • Analyze exit interview data and provide recommendations to management for improvements and increased retention.
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, writing job descriptions, and facilitating background checks.
  • Provide HR analytics to support various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Manage employee leave processes (STD, LTD, Workers Comp, FMLA) and maintain documentation related to these processes.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to leverage expertise in implementing functional initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and two years of HR experience or HR certification, or four years of relevant HR experience in the gaming or entertainment sector. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws is essential. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite, are required. A proactive approach to problem-solving is highly valued.

Required Skills:

A background in employment law and compliance regulations is preferred. The ability to coach employees and management through complex issues is essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications and HRIS are necessary. A thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations is required.

Licenses/Certificates: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and able to obtain a racing license through the appropriate regulatory body. A valid driver’s license is also required.
