Position Overview:

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of construction initiatives within the Travel Services division, guiding projects from conception through to completion. This pivotal role entails the planning, directing, and management of construction activities to ensure timely project delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

The Construction Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, architects, airport authorities, and the Plum Market leadership team, to ensure the successful realization of construction endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate detailed project plans, encompassing timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Oversee daily project and construction operations.
  • Facilitate coordination among architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and any modifications.
  • Conduct bid evaluations and descoping discussions for contractor selection.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules utilizing construction management software.
  • Organize and participate in design, progress, and construction meetings.
  • Review and validate contractor and consultant invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFPs, proposal assessments, and contracting processes.
  • Engage with municipal and regulatory officials for necessary entitlements and permits.
  • Track project schedules, progress, and contractor insurance compliance.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure completion and safety standards are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a Construction Manager role is preferred.
  • Exceptional planning and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  • Solid understanding of development and construction principles, including design phases, delivery methods, and project management.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
