Position Summary

We are currently in search of a Construction Equipment Technician to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty off-road machinery.

Compensation: $26-36

Work Schedule: 3pm-1am

Key Responsibilities

The Construction Equipment Technician will:
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on asphalt paving machinery
  • Operate and evaluate equipment to identify issues
  • Dismantle machinery to access and resolve problems
  • Repair hydraulic systems that are not functioning properly
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical malfunctions
  • Perform routine oil changes and battery checks
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks
  • Recommend external repairs when necessary
  • Order parts and equipment as needed
  • Utilize Oracle eAM for maintenance scheduling and work order creation
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Create electronic work orders and procure necessary parts
  • Conduct computer diagnostics using tools such as Cat ET and Cummins Insite
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with off-road heavy machinery
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
  • Physical capability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb, or crawl as required
  • Skill in manipulating components in confined spaces
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • A valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as needed
  • Welding, cutting, and fabrication skills
  • Possession of a CDL class B license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Personal tools for the job
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals
