At COMHAR, our objective is to deliver health and human services that empower individuals, families, and communities to lead healthier, self-sufficient lives. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to enhance our HR department.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break) Three days in the office and two days remote.

Compensation:

The annual salary is $60,000 ($28.85/hour).

Location:

This role requires travel to designated areas.

The HR Specialist position is a newly established role within our rapidly expanding division, which includes three residential programs and an employee base of approximately 50. The HR Specialist will oversee all facets of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR operations.

This position reports to the HR department with a collaborative relationship with the leadership of the division. The HR Specialist role is primarily based in the designated county with offices in multiple facilities. The HR Specialist will receive support from the corporate HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

The HR Specialist will be tasked with recommending, designing, and implementing human resources initiatives to ensure exceptional service in meeting the needs of our internal stakeholders while promoting best practices within the team to support current and future business objectives.

Primary Duties:

Recruitment:

  • Source talent through various channels, including job boards, referrals, and educational institutions.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify job requirements and maintain accurate job descriptions.
  • Develop onboarding processes and train new hires on HR policies and procedures.

Employee Relations:

  • Facilitate exit interviews and analyze retention and turnover metrics.
  • Manage employee relations, including engagement and sensitive discussions.
  • Evaluate exit survey data to implement strategies for reducing turnover.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment and record maintenance.
  • Lead the annual benefits enrollment process.

HR Operations:

  • Track and analyze HRIS data.
  • Coordinate training and development plans with the Professional Development Group.
  • Assess employee performance, including compensation reviews and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with HR associates and departmental managers.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Manage employee records, including benefits and performance documentation.
  • Create official HR documents such as offer letters and policy updates.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field with 3-5 years of experience in high-volume recruitment.
  • Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong knowledge of effective recruitment and networking techniques.
  • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with management and candidates at all levels.
  • Experience managing HR projects is essential.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in the healthcare or behavioral health sectors.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
  • A proactive approach to teamwork and independent tasks, with a desire for continuous learning and initiative.
