Job Summary:

Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning stairwells, disinfecting touch points and surfaces, cleaning glass on entry doors and office windows, maintaining employee lunch areas, dusting, and managing waste disposal.

Rate of Pay: $17.20 per hour plus a Health and Welfare rate of $4.41 per hour.

Is additional clearance required? Yes, in addition to the agency background check, employees must apply for clearance and badging through the Government agency Department of Transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine custodial tasks, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
  2. Conduct routine maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies.
  3. Manage waste disposal by emptying trash receptacles and disposing of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters.
  4. Ensure security by unlocking doors and locking them after cleaning.
  5. Report needs and concerns to the Project Manager, including checking supply levels.
  6. Promote workplace safety and environmental practices through proper care in using and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Less than high school education; no prior experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Ability to understand and adhere to safety procedures.
  • Capability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Proficiency in safely using cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Strong understanding of written and verbal communications.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must meet program eligibility requirements.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must pass a government background check to acquire a PIV access badge.
