Job Summary

The State Air Resources Board is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Emission Test Specialist III to join our team. As an Automotive Emission Test Specialist III, you will be responsible for processing test vehicles, installing adapters in evaporative and fuel systems for testing, verifying various parameters, and diagnosing vehicle emission control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process test vehicles and install adapters in evaporative and fuel systems for testing.
  • Verify various parameters and diagnose vehicle emission control systems.
  • Document and enter test vehicle information into a database.
  • Maintain a car wash station and perform vehicle maintenance and repairs in a garage environment.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a standard office environment and daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone. The incumbent will be required to move/transport test equipment and vehicle parts weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Safety shoes are required, and the work will be performed under and around vehicles indoors and outdoors.

Special Requirements

  • A valid California Driver's License (CDL) is required. You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application and provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.
  • Medical Clearance is required prior to being hired.
