Job Title: Staff Air Pollution Specialist

The State Air Resources Board is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Staff Air Pollution Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Emissions Certification and Compliance Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the air we breathe is clean and safe for all Californians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Aftermarket Diesel and Off-Road Section in assessing innovative aftermarket products for compliance with regulations and procedures.
  • Identify and research future aftermarket needs, staying up-to-date on engine and emissions control technologies.
  • Design and manage confirmatory and audit test programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide support for various databases, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and offer regulatory support and development.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of emission standards and regulatory requirements applicable to vehicles and engines sold and operated in California.
  • Understanding of engine and emission control technologies used in on-road and off-road mobile sources.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong program management and leadership skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and formulate appropriate responses.
