Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Mortgage Loan Processor to enhance our dynamic lending operations. The successful candidate will possess significant expertise in mortgage processing, a proactive approach, and a proven track record of providing effective solutions within the mortgage sector. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity that aligns with your professional goals.

Compensation:

$40,000 - $100,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure loan files comply with banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Compile and submit comprehensive loan packages to the underwriting department for evaluation.
  • Act as a liaison among the underwriting team, loan originators, real estate professionals, and applicants to streamline the loan approval process.
  • Document the entire loan process from initiation to approval within our system.
  • Assist clients in identifying the most suitable mortgage options based on their individual circumstances.
  • Request necessary documentation, including Verification of Employment, Insurance Evidence, Payoffs, Tax Transcripts, Credit Supplements, condo questionnaires, subordination requests, and Title Work as required.
  • Manage a pipeline of loans, ensuring a timely and compliant progression through the processing stages.
  • Communicate with Underwriters to clarify conditions and manage all necessary documentation to meet underwriting requirements.
  • Follow up on ordered documents promptly.
  • Maintain the loan origination system and database with accurate loan information.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to closing dates and company deadlines.
  • Handle all borrower communications from contract signing to loan closing.
  • Facilitate communication between Loan Officers, Loan Partners, and Underwriters with timely updates.
  • Continuously seek knowledge and skills to excel in your role.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance processes and deliver exceptional experiences to clients and referral partners.
Qualifications:
  • Required experience in mortgage lending and loan processing, particularly with FHA, FHLB, FNMA, or VA loans.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong analytical and time management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Preferred Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Current knowledge of mortgage loan products (FHA/VA/CONV/USDA) and familiarity with mortgage procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to analyze credit reports, income, and asset documentation, as well as general loan structuring methods.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management are critical.
  • Minimum 3 years of mortgage processing experience required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Prior experience in roles such as Processor, LOA, Loan Partner, Loan Officer, or Underwriter is advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively without micromanagement, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
