Position Overview

As an Armed Security Specialist, you will be a vital member of a highly skilled security team, safeguarding critical facilities and infrastructure, as well as public venues that necessitate an enhanced security presence. You will receive training from our expert firearms instructors in safe weapon handling and marksmanship. Your role is crucial in delivering specialized security services that Inter-Con provides to its clients daily.

  • Hourly compensation of $30.25 plus an additional $6.36 per hour for "Health and Welfare" benefits.

Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Federal Background check.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Honorable discharge required for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Active state weapons permit and state armed guard certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one of the following:
    • Two (2) years of security experience within the last five (5) years, or
    • Two years of military or National Guard service (active duty or reserve), or
    • Successful completion of a state-certified Law Enforcement Education and Training or Police Officer's Standard Training Course.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough checks of all equipment and systems upon assuming duties, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies as per established protocols.
  • Perform regular interior and exterior patrols of designated facilities throughout the shift.
  • Inspect the premises, including parking areas and garages.
  • Engage in random foot patrols within various work areas of the buildings occupied by clients, including stairwells, restrooms, lobbies, and entrances.
  • Interact verbally with employees during patrols to foster a sense of active security presence.
  • Remain vigilant for unusual, suspicious, or unauthorized activities in and around the office complex.
  • Monitor personnel traffic entering, exiting, and within buildings.
  • Oversee activities in the main lobbies to maintain safety and security in work areas.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations within the office complex.
