The Heavy Equipment Fluid Maintenance Specialist will be stationed at our facility and will be responsible for fueling, inspecting, and assisting in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and vehicles. A solid understanding of tools and equipment is essential. The role requires the Specialist to identify issues during equipment inspections and demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and strong interpersonal skills in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily checks on oil, grease, and fuel levels for trucks and heavy machinery.
  • Monitor coolant, transmission, hydraulic oil, and engine oil levels.
  • Fuel all equipment as required.
  • Perform power washing of radiators.
  • Report any identified issues to the on-duty mechanic.
  • Inspect and inflate tires on all equipment.
  • Assist mechanics with preventative maintenance tasks for heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
  • Help with driver reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  • Safeguard and properly utilize equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Keep the shop and work area clean and orderly.
  • Document fueling activities, including mileage and hours.
  • Prepare reports detailing time spent, materials used, and work completed.
  • Complete assignments within designated timeframes.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of training in automotive technology or equivalent experience in vehicle and equipment repair preferred.
  • Able to work the second shift.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding maintenance manuals and instructions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to the operation is preferred.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and ownership in tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use hands for handling tools and controls.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl as necessary.
  • Recognize and differentiate sounds.
  • Make precise adjustments to machinery controls.
  • Lift and carry heavy objects regularly.
  • Maintain physical activity for prolonged periods without fatigue.
