Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to deliver an exceptional experience in the Meat Department by actively engaging customers and ensuring they receive outstanding service and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
The following are essential duties associated with this position. Associates are expected to complete all assigned tasks necessary for the successful operation of our business. All associates must perform their duties in a manner that maintains the integrity and honesty of our company.
- Arriving for scheduled shifts punctually and consistently, capable of clear communication and demonstrating the physical ability to safely perform assigned tasks while providing excellent service.
- Enhancing sales through proactive engagement with customers, offering product suggestions, and discussing current promotions and services. (Examples may include: inquiring if customers need additional products, sharing insights about Yoke's signature items, or providing recipe and preparation advice).
- Delivering customer service by greeting guests and informing them about special features, product details, and services available in the Meat/Seafood Department. Services include, but are not limited to: breaking down package sizes, sharing cooking techniques, slicing various meats, cleaning seafood, and fulfilling special requests.
- Understanding and performing the following tasks as assigned: setting up displays, preparing products, managing inventory, operating sales counters, and maintaining stock levels.
- Safely operating essential equipment including slicers, scales, and vacuum pack machines.
- Completing tasks as directed by supervisory staff.
- Communicating customer requests accurately for special orders.
- Mentoring new associates or those unfamiliar with specific tasks, ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal, and company regulations regarding workplace safety, food handling, sanitation, and customer service.
- Actively participating in the Meat/Seafood Department's safety initiatives, including maintaining cleanliness and recognizing safety protocols.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing simple correspondence and communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and fellow associates.
- Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform mathematical calculations using units of American currency and weight measurements.
- Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form and manage problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Other Qualifications
Must meet state minimum requirements to operate slicers or other meat/seafood equipment.

Physical Demands & Safety Expectations
Most positions at Yoke's require varying degrees of physical effort. Associates are expected to adhere to Yoke's safety standards consistently. This includes using personal protective equipment when necessary, understanding ergonomic safety, chemical hazards, safe lifting techniques, and emergency protocols. All associates must report accidents within 24 hours.
