Senior Computational Biologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive scientist to join our R&D based RNA Sequencing team at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals. Our mission is to enable various transcriptomics techniques to aid pre-clinical evaluation of siRNA-based therapeutics and advancement of our clinical pipeline. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, NGS, and data analysis, with a passion for method and application development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, sample, and library generation for advanced transcriptomics techniques like single cell, spatial, and long read transcriptomics studies
  • Data mining and interpretation, with the ability to identify or develop custom bioinformatic tools to address technical and biological questions
  • Act as a subject matter expert and drive technologies and applications development to expand capabilities
  • Support general lab operation, including troubleshooting technical problems, training, and mentoring junior lab members

Qualifications:

  • MS in a biological and/or computer science related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 0-3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with NGS wet and dry lab techniques
  • Self-starter, self-learner, intensely detail-oriented, and curious mindset
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work cross-functionally
