Educational Program Supervisor
Salary Range:
An estimated salary range for this role is $66,259 - $86,453.
The University of California, San Diego's Department of Education Studies (EDS) is seeking applications for the role of Educational Program Supervisor.
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, as well as experience in mentoring or supervising educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction and mentorship to a cohort of pre-service teachers.
- Teach courses associated with student teaching seminars and field experiences.
- Conduct formal classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist in organizing program events, trainings, and meetings.
- Support student teacher placements and maintain communication with cooperating educators.
- Review and respond to candidate lesson plans and other submissions weekly.
- Complete evaluations and necessary documentation according to established deadlines.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Valid California clear teaching credential for English learner instruction.
- A minimum of 5 years of exemplary teaching experience in public education.
- At least 6 years of experience mentoring or supporting student teachers.
- Experience working within San Diego County Schools.
- Knowledge of California P-12 content standards and frameworks.
- Experience in collaborative team environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity in education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional California credentials in other content areas or Special Education.
- Bilingual skills or Bilingual Authorization.
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level.
- Experience in recruiting and preparing secondary educators.
- Expertise in educational technology.
