Position Overview:


The Registered Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role in executing various cardiac ultrasound examinations under the close supervision of the lead technical sonographer. This position is essential in assisting healthcare professionals in evaluating and diagnosing the cardiac health of pediatric patients.

This role emphasizes outstanding patient care by prioritizing safety, preferences, and effective communication. The sonographer collaborates with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external partners to ensure precise cardiac diagnostics and a patient-centered approach to care.

The focus of this position is on delivering specialized care to young patients in cardiac environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Conducts routine and specialized examinations in accordance with established protocols, ensuring high diagnostic quality.


Evaluates test results and communicates findings clearly to cardiologists to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning, fostering seamless collaboration between sonographers and cardiologists.


Manages, troubleshoots, and coordinates repairs for all ultrasound equipment to guarantee precise and dependable test outcomes, thereby enhancing patient safety and workflow efficiency.


Maintains professional credentials and CPR certification to comply with industry standards and ensure preparedness for any cardiac emergencies that may occur.


If adequately trained and demonstrating proficiency, performs IV insertions and maintains annual competency in IV skills.


Administers contrast agents as prescribed to enhance the quality of echocardiograms.

Completes additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 0-1 years in Healthcare- Ultrasound Training program

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:

Required:
RDCS | Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS from ARDMS or CCI. BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
