Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and management of the procurement processes for all necessary materials, equipment, and services essential for repair, overhaul, and manufacturing. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials to meet the schedules of assigned programs.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Evaluating supplier proposals based on pricing, delivery timelines, and quality, followed by supplier selection.
  • Monitoring cost, schedule, and performance metrics of suppliers and programs to ensure compliance with budgets and customer expectations.
  • Researching and developing sources for required commodities while assessing material shortages and determining optimal inventory levels.
  • Directing procurement and scheduling activities through a computerized ERP system, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound material flow.
  • Collaborating with Account Managers, Contracts, and Operations to establish material requirements for long-term projects and managing inventory levels to minimize excess while ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Overseeing all service and production ordering activities, working closely with various departments to establish optimal inventory levels and stock order recommendations.
  • Assisting in maintaining traceability of material costs for contracts and projects, supporting program managers with material reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards, including AS9100.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets for labor and expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Maintaining effective communication with other departments regarding material costs, schedules, and issues affecting budgets and customer requirements.
  • Selecting, training, and developing team members to ensure quality performance and efficient utilization of personnel.
  • Managing the material quoting process to ensure accurate cost assessments.
  • Reviewing team interactions with internal customers to ensure timely responses and proactive issue resolution.
  • Developing long-term material plans to support annual forecasts and maintaining production flow.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or an MBA with 6-8 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Purchasing, Production Control, and Inventory Management.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and managerial skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • The capacity to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively to find acceptable solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives based on business needs.
