Job Overview

At the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA), we are seeking a skilled Health Care Financial Analyst to join our dynamic Provider Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects, sharing content expertise, and providing technical oversight to support our mission of improving healthcare financial transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of a new nursing facility performance analysis, providing valuable insights into healthcare financial trends.
  • Collaborate with other state agencies and CHIA departments to develop comprehensive publications on the Massachusetts provider landscape, ensuring accurate and timely data.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and charts to support data-driven decision-making, utilizing statistical software such as Excel and Tableau.
  • Provide technical support to staff, assisting with data analysis, documentation, and presentation of financial data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, healthcare policy and management, business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, healthcare planning or administration, public health policy or administration, human services policy analyses or administration, economics, or a similar field.
  • Strong data management skills, including the ability to manipulate, organize, and analyze different datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly and persuasively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in a related field.
  • Experience with financial documents, such as audited financial statements, and knowledge of financial accounting concepts.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and as an independent, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication.
