Bart-s Electric is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee all aspects of assigned commercial electrical projects from commencement to completion. As a member of our operations and project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, profitably, timely, and of high quality, while exceeding customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and manage electrical construction projects to ensure successful completion.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities through networking and customer relationship building.
- Promote a positive company culture by fostering friendly and constructive employee relations.
- Work with the Purchasing Department and vendors to ensure effective material procurement and coordination.
- Attend project meetings and participate in field staff performance review process.
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, contract drawings, and project communication.
- Negotiate subcontracts and manage sub-tiered subcontractors to ensure their scope is performed accurately and safely.
- Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
- Prepare change order requests, project reports, and documentation.
- Review daily reports generated by foremen and approve time entered by foremen.
- Consistently walk jobsites with foremen and crew to verify progress, quality, and safety.
- Assist in preconstruction as required by project assignment.
- Establish project budget and manpower forecast with the foreman/superintendent.
- Complete monthly financial projections on time and review with Vice President of Operations.
- Direct project personnel and outline work plan and assignment of duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
- Keep Vice President Operations informed of project status and any needed changes in schedule, resources, and budget.
- Oversee project budget and approve all expenditures and change orders for projects.
- Serve as primary liaison between company and general contractors and suppliers and provide technical advice for improved processes and resolution of problems.
- Communicate and consult with preconstruction and estimating team regarding successful transition of projects from bid process to construction stage.
- Supervise and provide performance feedback to field superintendents and foremen.
- Oversee the final approval and letter of occupancy process with builder/general contractor.
- Bachelor-s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Construction, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years- experience in the electrical field and 1 year of electrical estimating experience.
- Travel: 20% - 50%, as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, ProCore, BlueBeam, and other computer programs and platforms.
- Ability to work independently or in teams, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
- Effectively demonstrate attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Electrical field experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum or Vista is preferred but not required.
