Job Title: Controls Engineer

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our Process Control Center of Excellence team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting and improving control systems and automation in our Corrugated manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the facility's control systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for manufacturing operations across multiple facilities.
  • Guide manufacturing operations on the selection and implementation of process control technologies.
  • Design, program, modify, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Technical/Vocational degree, or an Associate's Degree or higher.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Process Control/Automation with a focus on PLCs, including troubleshooting, configuration, and HMI design.
  • Ability to travel to facilities for onsite support (up to 40%).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working within a Corrugated operation.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth), Fanuc Robots.
  • Hands-on programming experience and hardware management in industrial process control platforms.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and ProfNet.
  • Experience with 3-phase motor controls, 480V A/C systems, low voltage D/C systems, and Drives.
  • Experience working with multiple vintages of PLC platforms.
  • Understanding of Cyber Security, ISA 99, IEC 62443, the Purdue Model, and firewalls.
Compensation:

We anticipate paying $110K - $145K.
