Georgia-Pacific is seeking a skilled professional to join our Process Control Center of Excellence team as a Controls Engineer. This role will focus on supporting and improving control systems and automation in our Corrugated manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the facility's control systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for manufacturing operations across multiple facilities.
- Guide manufacturing operations on the selection and implementation of process control technologies.
- Design, program, modify, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Pursue engineering solutions to resolve equipment deficiencies.
- Technical/Vocational degree, or an Associate's Degree or higher.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Process Control/Automation with a focus on PLCs, including troubleshooting, configuration, and HMI design.
- Ability to travel to facilities for onsite support (up to 40%).
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working within a Corrugated operation.
- 5+ years of professional experience with PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth), Fanuc Robots.
- Hands-on programming experience and hardware management in industrial process control platforms.
- Familiarity with protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and ProfNet.
- Experience with 3-phase motor controls, 480V A/C systems, low voltage D/C systems, and Drives.
- Experience working with multiple vintages of PLC platforms.
- Understanding of Cyber Security, ISA 99, IEC 62443, the Purdue Model, and firewalls.
