Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled RFIC Design Engineer to join our Wireless Radio team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge wireless connectivity solutions for our products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RFIC designs for wireless SoC and drive them to mass production for Apple's Wireless Connectivity products.
  • Contribute to the development of radio transceiver building blocks and chains, including TX, RX, and PLL-LOGen for wireless connectivity products.
  • Work closely with RF Systems to ensure block-level and high-level specifications of the TX, RX, and PLL-LOGen are met.
  • Design and implement RF and Analog loopbacks for calibration and compensation.
  • Collaborate with RFIC test engineers to bring up, debug, and optimize the wireless connectivity chip through productization.
  • Provide design versus silicon measurements correlation and compliance with specification for volume production.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in RF/analog and mixed-signal design, with a focus on cutting-edge RF CMOS design.
  • Deep understanding of analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design, including design of LNAs, PAs, PLL/VCO/DCO/LOGEN blocks, mixers, baseband filters, and amplifiers.
  • Experience with various RF transceiver architectures and their trade-offs, system specifications, and ability to work with system architects to translate system requirements into circuit requirements at IC level.
  • Understanding of impact of modulation type to radio architecture and requirements.
  • Ability to work with digital design group for an optimum partition between digital and analog domain.
  • Familiarity with integration flows and challenges of wireless SoCs.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, EM simulation (EMX, HFSS), and similar tools.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal mode verification methodology (SystemVerilog, AMS, Nanotime).
  • Experience in Silicon characterization and debug.

Education and Experience

  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience. MSEE and PhD is preferred.
