The Wireless SoC Radio Team is at the forefront of designing cutting-edge, energy-efficient CMOS radios, encompassing the entire spectrum from RF to digital signals.
Our team plays a crucial role in the design and validation of various RF, analog, and mixed-signal components, including RF front-end amplifiers, data converters, baseband filters, phase-locked loops, crystal oscillators, and bandgap references.
We are pioneering new technologies that enhance user experiences at the product level, driven by a highly skilled, vertically integrated engineering team that covers RF/Analog architecture and design, Systems/PHY/MAC architecture and design, VLSI/RTL design and integration, Emulation, Design Verification, Testing and Validation, as well as Firmware/Software engineering.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the RFIC design team to execute radio calibration, optimization, characterization, and troubleshooting.
Your responsibilities will include automating these tasks and/or defining test procedures, particularly for repetitive tasks or those requiring extensive setup.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and integrate end-to-end DUT control sequences and validate them using emulation systems.
- Oversee the wireless-SOC RF functionality bring-up process.
- Design and implement RF block and/or system calibrations, including algorithms and optimizations.
- Conduct RF performance optimization and characterization, assessing parameters such as Psat, Mask, IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, lock time, and return loss.
- Create RF test benches and develop scripts to control wireless-SOC and communicate with testing equipment.
- Write scripts for plotting, parsing, and analyzing extensive data sets.
- Compile RF performance summary reports based on characterization results in relation to chip specifications.
- Develop RF calibrations and tests for ATE mass production and analyze ATE failures.
- Generate RF firmware based on Python reference scripts.
Strong experience in RF parametric testing, including IP3, NF, ACPR, phase noise, and load pull.
In-depth knowledge of RF testing equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and vector signal generators.
Solid background in Wireless RF and familiarity with RF systems fundamentals, RF transceiver architectures, and digital communication.
Proficient in understanding RFIC block-level design schematics.
Some experience in RF PCB design, debugging, and development.
Proficiency in Python programming is highly desirable.
Experience with embedded systems and C programming is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:At Apple, base pay is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a range. This allows for growth as you develop within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
