Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for Academic Operations to join our team at Harvard University. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing faculty searches, reviews, and related project management for academic departments. This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts, with additional details to be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage faculty searches, reviews, and related project management for academic departments.
  • Attend faculty meetings for academic areas to provide insights and guidance and discuss project details and updates.
  • Partner with SEAS offices on events, doctoral candidate reviews, and space planning.
  • Develop and manage critical process documentation for area administration, including materials related to faculty searches, reviews, recruitment visits, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Oversee the management of documents and dossiers within SharePoint and ensure area faculty listservs are regularly updated and accurate.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, management, or a related discipline, and 3+ years of related experience, with progressively responsible administrative management experience. Excellent time management and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience working in higher education with faculty, staff, and students are also required. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, collaborative work style, and ability to work effectively across all levels are also essential.
