Job Opportunity

Nassau Candy, a leading US wholesale manufacturer of specialty and private label confections, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join its busy and growing team in Hicksville.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily cash transactions for all company accounts, ensuring accurate recording and posting of cash receipts and disbursements.
  • Maintain cash balances and perform intercompany transfers in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Manage checks and ACH positive pay daily to effectively control fraud.
  • Review, code, and initiate payments (check, ACH, Wire) of approved disbursements.
  • Process foreign payments, ensuring accuracy of invoices and currency translations.
  • Timely reconcile cash receipts and post miscellaneous and intercompany disbursements.
  • Reconcile payroll disbursements and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile and record corporate credit card transactions.
  • Perform Excel calculations of disbursements, including commission payments.
  • Generate reports to aid in Company 401k, worker's comp, and related audits.
  • Review and approve Accounts Payable postings of cash disbursements.
  • Manage new accounts setup in Accounts Payable system.
  • Assist with source file changes.
  • Assist with project assignments and financial reporting.
  • Prepare analysis and reconciliations of general ledger cash and credit card accounts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years' experience related to accounting and cash management.
  • Experience in multi-entity organizations, preferably in manufacturing and/or distribution.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems – experience with ERP conversions a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Self-starter and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exhibits high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Attention to details, good organizational skills, and ability to perform efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability and desire to work on-site in Hicksville.
