Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in the Trial Section. The successful candidate will provide administrative and paralegal support to attorneys in the General Civil Unit, including clerical duties, paralegal tasks, and administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide secretarial support to attorneys, including prioritizing work, typing and editing documents, and preparing them for filing.
  • Establish files, organize and maintain electronic files, and upload discovery documents to a file-sharing platform.
  • Calculate litigation deadlines, communicate with clients and opposing counsel, and proofread and perform quality checks on work product.
  • Assist in preparation of responses to discovery requests, conduct fact gathering, and draft memoranda and affidavits.
  • Prepare trial exhibits and materials, contact and schedule witnesses, and prepare and track subpoenas.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including preparing and processing travel vouchers, arranging for conference rooms, and electronically filing documents in various courts.
Requirements
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience working in a litigation practice.
  • Competent working knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, case management systems, and document management systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adjust priorities without close supervision, and interact effectively with a diverse workforce and the general public.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, databases, cite-checking, and legal search engines.
