The Fountain Group is currently in search of a Flight Readiness Specialist for a key client. Below are the details for this role:

Position Overview:
  • Compensation: $40/hour to start
  • Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion based on performance and budget considerations.
  • Shift Flexibility: Must be available to work any shift, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Work within confined spaces of wing fuel cells for extended durations.
    • Inspect and verify aircraft surface preparations, ensuring the application of sealants, adhesives, primers, finishes, and related chemicals meets integrity standards for Internal/External Tank Fuel Systems and components, adhering to drawings and specifications.
    • Assist flight line personnel in verifying fuel tank sealant repairs prior to aircraft fueling.
    • Document and identify discrepancies as needed.
    • Audit time/temperature-sensitive materials (e.g., sealants, primers, finishes) to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
    • Conduct tests on sealants and finishes (e.g., litmus tests, durometer hardness) in accordance with specifications and manufacturer requirements.
    • Confirm that all parts and assemblies are installed according to drawings, specifications, and plans, utilizing mathematical calculations and precision measuring tools.
    • Witness and document functional tests (e.g., pneumatic pressure tests, vacuum tests) of aircraft components and systems to identify any leaks.
    • Perform inspections for pre-flight and post-flight checks, as well as maintenance and modification inspections prior to delivery.
    • Engage in product reviews with customers during product or process verification.
    • Collaborate with customers and consult with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, planning, customer coordination) regarding process or job-related matters.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years in the aerospace sector required.
  • At least 3 years in quality inspection and/or auditing required.
  • 3+ years of FOD risk experience preferred.
  • Experience with 787 programming is preferred.
