Job Summary

Boeing is seeking a highly skilled Flight Operations Specialist to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal, and rigging.
  • Landing gear operations check, door rigging, and servicing of aircraft.
  • Perform essential component change outs, such as servo pumps, filters, APU, and engine components.
  • Perform engine runs, fuel AC, defuel AC, and troubleshoot components, fuel systems, and hydraulics.
  • Demonstrate the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform repair or replace components.
  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
  • Lead teams through more complex aircraft-related tasks.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that all equipment is used in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
  • Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
  • Work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays.
  • Assist other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) in order to ensure cost/schedule targets are met.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience working flight operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to work variable shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with F-18/Fighter or Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance.
  • Canopy work: removal, installation, to include rigging.
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and removal of fighter engines.
  • Servicing: Nitrogen, fuel/defuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, etc.
  • Operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.
