I-Con Technology is seeking a Senior Controls Field Engineer to enhance our Engineering Service and Support division, focusing on the continuous improvement of our extensive fleet of mobile large-scale construction systems.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional troubleshooting abilities, strong documentation expertise, and a keen interest in structured programming. This position requires occasional travel to various job sites for troubleshooting and repairs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze and resolve intricate control logic issues using Structured Text with Twincat.
  • Enhance modular object-oriented code by producing comprehensive documentation.
  • Create clear and effective code that ensures reliable communication with higher-level control and monitoring systems.
  • Maintain and document change logs for all modifications.
  • Engage actively in equipment design evaluations and project status discussions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and document troubleshooting procedures for control-related systems, including PLC/VFDs and other EtherCAT and IO-Link devices.
  • Provide support for systems in operation, both remotely and on-site.
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, on short notice is essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in controls development with a bachelor's degree, or 8+ years without.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with TwinCAT 3 or other real-time control systems.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming using structured text.
  • Strong understanding of IP-based networking.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects to end users.
  • Solid grasp of motion or process control techniques in real-time industrial environments.
  • Innovative and proactive problem solver with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in challenging environments.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in startup environments.
  • Expertise in Twincat 3 Object Oriented Structured Text development.
  • Ability to interpret and contribute to electrical schematics.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about driving initiatives in dynamic situations.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Preparedness to work in extreme conditions, including high temperatures, freezing temperatures, and adverse weather.
