Job Overview

POSITION: Paratransit Driver

LOCATION: York, Pennsylvania

COMPANY: JCSI is a regional public transportation provider in Pennsylvania, dedicated to delivering a variety of transportation solutions to the residents across multiple counties.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is under the supervision of the Site Manager/Operations Supervisor. The selected candidate will undergo three weeks of training and will be expected to adhere to SRTA standards throughout their employment.

SALARY:
$18.50 per hour for those with a regular driver's license
$19.50 per hour for candidates holding a CDL Class A or B, with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake Restriction Lifted.

*Weekly paychecks and an attractive benefits package are included.*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operating a designated van or bus to transport passengers in a courteous and professional manner, following the daily manifest schedule, which may vary throughout the day.
  • Working flexible shifts and irregular hours, with availability for overtime or emergency response as needed.
  • Performing general maintenance of vehicles, including cleaning, fueling, and adhering to the Maintenance Plan and SRTA procedures.
  • Preparing for daily operations by reporting to dispatch on time and being in suitable physical condition to fulfill driving responsibilities while adhering to the dress code.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and reliability before operation, completing daily pre- and post-trip inspection checklists, and addressing any non-compliance issues with the Dispatcher or Supervisor.
  • Maintaining a safe environment by following traffic regulations, observing road conditions, and enforcing passenger safety rules.
  • Following established emergency protocols in the event of an accident or safety incident, including notifying the dispatcher, securing the scene, and completing necessary reports.
  • Reviewing incidents and policy exceptions with the Supervisor to ensure compliance and improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Availability to work during all operating hours: Monday through Saturday, from early morning until late evening, with a flexible schedule.
  • This position is safety-sensitive and subject to US DOT Drug and Alcohol testing protocols.
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
