Job Overview:

The Patient Care Services Representative will act as the primary liaison for all patients and the surrounding community. This role encompasses receiving and processing patient referrals, managing patient registration, verifying demographic information, obtaining insurance documentation, and accurately updating medical records. Furthermore, the responsibilities of the Patient Care Services Representative include scheduling appointments, transcribing orders, discussing financial options with patients, and ensuring medical records are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and provides exceptional customer service by welcoming patients and the community with respect.
  • Handles admission paperwork and performs basic insurance verification, ensuring the correct identification of patients for billing purposes.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries in a friendly and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintains patient flow and promptly informs the Supervisor of any departmental or patient-related concerns.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes bed placement needs to ensure timely and appropriate patient placement.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in the healthcare sector or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Cadence, and Connect care is preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Possesses problem-solving abilities, basic computer skills, and typing proficiency of 40 WPM, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engages with colleagues and patients in a professional manner.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
