Job SummaryThe Threat Applications Branch (TAB) in the Systems Development Division (SDD) within the Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory seeks students with interests in RF engineering, test and evaluation, and radar systems. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Analog and digital circuit development and design
- RF system design studies, test plans, and analysis
- Generating cable and chassis level assembly drawings for various programs
- Assisting in component selection and system design for various subsystems
- Interfacing with various engineering teams for technical tasking
- Documenting work of design, theory, and test in written and presentation form as part of a team
Students will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing analog and digital circuits
- Conducting RF system design studies and analysis
- Generating assembly drawings for various programs
- Assisting in component selection and system design
- Interfacing with engineering teams for technical tasking
- Documenting work in written and presentation form
To be eligible for this position, students must:
- Pursue a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be eligible to be approved by their college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with their university during work terms
- Be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms prior to graduation
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Experience with MATLAB and the Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS
- Working knowledge of circuit design and simulation tools
- Understanding of basic electrical theory
- Understanding of basic electromagnetic theory
- Experience in 1 or more programming languages
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
- Experience working in teams to accomplish tasks and meet mutual objectives
Students will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with experienced engineers and researchers. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Clearance RequirementsCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
