Job Description

GTRI's Cooperative Education program offers students the opportunity to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, utilize state-of-the-art equipment, and rapidly improve technical and leadership skills.

Job Summary

The Threat Applications Branch (TAB) in the Systems Development Division (SDD) within the Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory seeks students with interests in RF engineering, test and evaluation, and radar systems.

Responsibilities
  • Analog and digital circuit development and design
  • RF system design studies, test plans, and analysis
  • Generating cable and chassis level assembly drawings for various programs
  • Assisting in component selection and system design for various subsystems
  • Interfacing with various engineering teams for technical tasking
  • Documenting work of design, theory, and test in written and presentation form as part of a team
Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
  • Must be able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Experience with MATLAB and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS
  • Working knowledge of circuit design and simulation tools
  • Understanding of basic electrical theory
  • Understanding of basic electromagnetic theory
  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Experience working in teams to accomplish tasks and meet mutual objectives
Clearance and Citizenship

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and be US Citizens due to research contracts with the US federal government.
