Key Responsibilities:
- Account Analysis and Reconciliations: Execute various accounting functions including account analysis, reconciliations, and preparation of reports. This encompasses prepaids, bank accounts, intercompany accounts, depreciable assets, leases, and more. Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and resolve differences to ensure transactions are recorded in line with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Report Preparation & Filing: Complete processes and reporting for unclaimed funds. Prepare personal property tax work papers as required by the Tax department to meet tax reporting obligations. Generate various reports for the US Census Bureau, ensuring accurate data sourcing from multiple systems.
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintain and review precise fixed asset records. Oversee fixed asset acquisition, transfer, and disposal activities to guarantee timely recording in appropriate systems. Establish and manage related depreciation accounts and schedules, both internal and external, while reviewing supplier invoices for correct sales tax payments.
- Supplier Master Maintenance: Uphold and verify supplier master data across multiple ERP systems for new and existing suppliers, including essential supplier information, payment methods, and applicable Form 1099 reporting details.
- Special Projects: Undertake special studies and address specific challenges and process enhancements as identified by department leadership. Inform other departments of potential accounting impacts when new initiatives are considered or implemented. Represent the accounting department on cross-departmental teams to foster company-wide improvements.
- Assistance to External Auditors: Support external auditors during year-end procedures by reconciling and preparing schedules, gathering necessary documentation, and providing explanations of supporting materials.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
2-4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage in various accounting activities to advance projects and objectively assess accounting processes and financial statement risks. Proficient computer skills to navigate multiple accounting systems.
Work Authorization:
