Aviation Operations Support Specialist

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Udelhoven Companies manages a fleet of Q400 aircraft dedicated to transporting personnel to remote locations. The organization also operates additional aircraft to facilitate the movement of workers and supplies. We are currently in search of a skilled Aviation Support Specialist to enhance our flight and passenger services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in various airport operations, ensuring high-quality service and customer interaction.
- Respond to inquiries about flight schedules and assist passengers with check-in processes.
- Oversee boarding procedures and ensure timely flight closures.
- Adhere to FAA regulations and company policies, enforcing safety and security protocols.
- Utilize fundamental skills relevant to the role within the designated operational area.
Additional Duties May Include:
- Collaborate with travel coordinators to fulfill the travel requirements of personnel supporting operations.
- Handle phone communications and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Disseminate flight information to relevant teams, including flight crews and maintenance personnel.
- Monitor flight activities and provide pilots with weather updates and runway conditions.
- Adapt to changing operational scenarios caused by weather or mechanical challenges.
- Inform operations and maintenance teams regarding any irregularities in flight schedules.
- Compile operational reports as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Work Schedule:
The work schedule is variable, with three shifts available. The contingent worker may be required to work any of these shifts. Typically, the schedule runs Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Overtime may be necessary, and work during holidays is expected.
Required Qualifications:
- Intermediate experience level, generally 3-5 years.
- Progressing towards full proficiency in the role.
- Possesses a broad understanding of the operational field.
- Identifies challenges and formulates potential solutions.
- Decision-making within established guidelines.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Minimum of 3 years in an administrative or customer service capacity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with iLogistics or SABRE reservation systems.
- Experience in flight following or holding an FAA Dispatch license.
- Previous experience in the North Slope region and knowledge of relevant terminology.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a diverse cultural setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills in a team-oriented environment.
- Capability to comprehend and apply standard operating procedures.
- High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and accountability for actions.
- Commitment to achieving results while ensuring a safe work environment.
- Proactively seeks collaboration with diverse individuals and organizations to meet business objectives.
- Efficiently manages tasks to fulfill responsibilities for oneself and others.
