Job Description

As a key member of our team at Carrie Rikon & Associates, LLC., the Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Branch, ensuring customer satisfaction, and projected bottom line profit. This role will also involve managing personnel issues and supervision, maintaining a positive company image, and providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General operations of the Branch, including managing personnel and supervision.
  2. Developing strong business relationships with customers through open communication and effective problem-solving.
  3. Ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, including safety, personnel, security, pest control, and shrink control.
  4. Reviewing financial and operational reports and taking necessary actions based on report results.
  5. Directing subordinates to ensure timely and accurate management of all warehouse operations, including safety, sanitation, shelf labels, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, stacking position, order pulling, shipping, and in-store customer service.
  6. Defining service standards and operational mission of the branch, communicating it to employees, and monitoring activities to meet branch goals.
  7. Maximizing sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service, proper scheduling of the workforce, and meeting budgetary guidelines.
  8. Managing selection, annual performance appraisals, and professional development of all management-level personnel.
  9. Directly supervising and managing department managers.
  10. Coaching managers on employee relation issues, such as new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary action, including termination.
  11. Maintaining communication with Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  12. Reviewing inventory on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and in-house products.
  13. Completing and processing necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required).
  2. Minimum 4 years of management experience in food service or grocery distribution in a supermarket, club warehouse, big box, or mass merchandising environment.
  3. Background in P&L, inventory control, merchandising, hiring/training staff, front-end, merchandising, cash control, payroll, security/loss prevention mandatory.
  4. Strong leadership skills, capable of running a high-volume warehouse operation.
  5. Excellent communication, organizational, and people management/training skills, and extremely customer service-oriented.
  6. Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.
  7. Background in big box, food service, or food retail.

Work Environment:

  1. For the most part, the ambient temperature will be moderate, with areas that are cold, such as the Freezer, and hot, such as the Damages area.
  2. The work is mostly performed standing/walking – must be able to stand/walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
  3. Physical labor is infrequent but may be required to move merchandise or clean areas.
  4. Industrial vehicles (forklifts, Hilo) will be moving material throughout the warehouse.
