Nurse Educator and Infection Control Specialist

As a Nurse Educator and Infection Control Specialist at Highlands Behavioral Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients. You will assist the Chief Nursing Officer in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events for all Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Behavioral Health Technicians. This includes coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education for hospital staff.
Responsibilities- Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events
- Coordinate the activities of the Infection Control Program
- Assume direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting
- Provide technical support and education for hospital staff
- Develop and implement nursing staff education and training programs
- Ensure compliance with employee health regulations
- Participate in Treatment Team meetings as needed
- Graduate from an accredited program in nursing
- Master's Level preferred
- A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting
- Direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices, and procedures
- Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado
- Preferred certification in Infection Prevention/Control (CIC)
