Job Overview

The Clinical Education Specialist role is a key position in our Perioperative Services team, responsible for ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care. This role is aligned with the Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD) standards, which emphasize competency management, education, role development, orientation/onboarding, research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs for Pre-Op/PACU and Operating Room staff
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to design and deliver educational content
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in pediatric surgery and perioperative care
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
  • 5 years of clinical pediatric experience, with previous experience as an OR nurse preferred
  • BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association
  • ANCC or Magnet-approved certification within one year of hire
  • Current Colorado RN license
Work Environment

The South Campus Perioperative Services team performs approximately 3500 surgeries per year, with a focus on ENT, Urology, Ortho, Plastics, and General Surgery. This role is a 20-hour per week, part-time position with flexibility to accommodate the needs of the team.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance if relocating from 100 miles or greater.
