Job Overview

The Clinical Education Specialist role is a key position in our Perioperative Services team, responsible for ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care. This role is aligned with the Association of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD) standards, which emphasize competency management, education, role development, orientation/onboarding, research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members in Pre-Op/PACU and the Operating Room.
  • Support onboarding and orientation processes to ensure new team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Lead initiatives around role development to ensure that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Perioperative Services team to ensure that educational programs are aligned with the needs of the team and the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent with post-master's certification in education.
  • 5 years of clinical pediatric experience.
  • Previous experience as an OR nurse strongly preferred.
  • BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Magnet approved certification within one year of hire.
  • Current Colorado RN License.
Work Environment

The Clinical Education Specialist will work in our beautiful South Campus nestled near the foothills in Highlands Ranch, CO. The South Campus Perioperative Services team performs approximately 3500 surgeries per year within the specialties of ENT, Urology, Ortho, Plastics, and General Surgery.
