Clinical Crisis Responder

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Co-Responder to join our team at the Mental Health Association. As a key member of our crisis response team, you will work closely with the West Orange Police Department to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation services to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities- Provide co-responding efforts to identified mental health and crisis response incidents in the community, in collaboration with the West Orange Police Department.
- Respond to calls in conjunction with West Orange Police Department for cases in which a mental health concern is indicated, including but not limited to: mental health crisis, quality of life calls, wellness checks, and connection/linkage to community services.
- Develop systems for on-going follow up for community members in need of connections to social services that can enhance prevention of non-emergency calls and increase early intervention treatment access.
- Direct follow up with identified clients and collateral contacts as needed in order to facilitate access to appropriate services based on immediate client needs.
- Record keeping, reports, and documentation in accordance with program requirements.
- Master's Degree and a License in Social Work or Counseling is required (LPC/LCSW Preferred, LAC or LSW will be considered with at least 1-2 years of experience).
- Must have a valid NJ driver's license and a good driving record.
- Knowledge of Essex County resources is helpful.
- Ability to provide effective crisis response and de-escalation as related to community mental health/justice involved individuals in the community.
- Able to collaborate effectively with responding officers to provide support and resources to individuals within West Orange.
