Position Overview::

We are seeking a skilled Senior Architectural Project Leader to become a vital part of HGA's Science and Technology division.

Our esteemed teams in science and technology have successfully designed and programmed advanced environments for a variety of sectors including education, corporate, governmental, and healthcare.

Our research-driven methodology fosters innovative solutions that propel scientific and technological progress.

Your contributions will focus on designing spaces that stimulate creativity, facilitate experimentation, enhance occupant well-being, and minimize environmental impact.


This role necessitates experience in California, particularly in laboratory and healthcare settings, along with exceptional communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Designer and Project Manager to develop intricate and non-standard design concepts that align with client expectations and timelines.

This position offers numerous opportunities for client engagement and will support our team's dedication to design excellence across diverse project types.


Key Responsibilities::

1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project's design philosophy and provide significant input in formulating a design and building performance strategy, effectively communicating this to team members as necessary.

2. Offer technical design insights and oversee the project's technical design efforts, ensuring quality control throughout all project phases in close collaboration with clients and the project team.

3. Pursue creative and innovative solutions for assigned tasks, conducting relevant research and documentation to substantiate these solutions. Collaborate actively with consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are well-coordinated and aligned with design concepts and performance objectives.

4. Contribute to the preparation of design documents and lead the detailed development of construction documents throughout all project phases, ensuring complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation.

5. Advance the production of schematic, design development, and construction document drawings and specifications in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, and design intent.

6. Perform construction administration tasks, including managing RFIs, RFPs, and change orders.

7. Conduct applicable agency review analyses, such as accessibility, zoning, and life-safety assessments.

8. Maintain ongoing communication with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout all project phases, participating in marketing and client presentations as required.

Qualifications::

- Bachelor's degree in architecture.

- Architectural registration is preferred.

- LEED accreditation is preferred.

- 15+ years of experience across various project scales.

- Experience with high-tech laboratories is advantageous.

- Strong design capabilities are essential.

- Proficiency in Revit is required; familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, is desired.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.

- Proven ability to oversee and manage project delivery, including multiple large or complex projects.

- Capability to lead remote teams.

Compensation Information::

The salary range provided corresponds to the geographical area of the office for this position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on work experience, educational background, licensure requirements, and skill level, finalized at the time of the offer.

Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for HGA's comprehensive benefits programs, which include an annual bonus, a success-sharing bonus program, a guaranteed 401(k) contribution, paid parental leave, and various medical, dental, and life insurance plans, along with PTO and short- and long-term disability programs.
