Position Overview
The Fire Alarm Systems Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the testing, maintenance, and inspection of fire detection systems. This role requires a commitment to delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing service to internal and external clients.
- Support Fire Alarm Technicians in the testing and maintenance of fire detection and signaling systems.
- Ensure all services are performed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, relevant codes, and company policies.
- Engage in continuous learning with the goal of achieving NICET II certification as a Fire Alarm Technician within two years.
- Assist in the preparation and transportation of materials and equipment to job sites.
- Help set up work areas, including the arrangement of equipment and machinery.
- Utilize various hand tools, measuring instruments, and industry-related machinery.
- Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.
- Contribute positively to the company's reputation through every interaction.
- Commit to fulfilling obligations, which may include overtime work.
- Adhere to the company's Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standards.
- Prioritize safety by following all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Capable of lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, crouching, reaching, and pushing.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
- Adaptable to extreme temperature conditions.
- Comfortable working in noisy environments.
