The Department of Sustainability, Utilities, and Infrastructure (SUI) is dedicated to fostering a comprehensive approach to sustainability on campus. This department is focused on enhancing sustainability in campus operations related to energy, water, waste, resilience, and safety, while optimizing efficiency in all facets of campus life—from resource management to community engagement.

Job Purpose:
The Office of Sustainability (OOS) is seeking a full-time Sustainability Operations Coordinator to join a diverse team of professionals committed to advancing Stanford's sustainability objectives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional collaboration and organizational skills, proactively supporting the success of various events, projects, and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Management (30%):
    Oversee all logistical aspects of Sustainable Stanford events, both virtual and in-person, ensuring adherence to sustainable event planning best practices. This includes coordinating tours and managing partner visits, as well as representing Sustainable Stanford at partner events.
  • Financial Compliance (30%):
    Ensure compliance with university financial policies, manage purchase requisitions, track invoices, and oversee team credit card transactions. Provide guidance on sustainable procurement practices.
  • Staff Recruitment and Onboarding (15%):
    Act as the main contact for student hiring, ensuring adherence to university policies. Manage onboarding processes and maintain organizational records.
  • Sustainability Program Support (20%):
    Assist program managers with data collection, outreach initiatives, and sustainability projects, while managing inquiries through shared communication channels.
  • Operations Support (5%):
    Collaborate with facilities to enhance sustainable operations and report on sustainability performance metrics.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience is required, with three to five years of experience preferred. Candidates should demonstrate high-level administrative support skills, financial transaction processing experience, and proficiency in various software applications.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform desk-based tasks, with occasional requirements for standing, walking, and lifting light objects.
