Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Inspector plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager and Operations Manager in ensuring that hotel facilities are maintained in a pristine and hygienic state, safeguarding the well-being of both guests and staff. This position is responsible for providing clear guidance and direction to room attendants, housepersons, and laundry staff on a daily basis. The Inspector will evaluate and certify all rooms as clean and ready for occupancy, adhering to the established standards of the hotel. This role is essential in fostering a positive and efficient housekeeping department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Relations

  • Uphold guest service as the primary focus of operations.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to guest satisfaction by promptly addressing their needs.
  • Strive to ensure every guest has a pleasant experience.
  • Meet or surpass established guest satisfaction metrics.
  • Ensure that hotel standards and services enhance the delivery of consistent guest service.
  • Implement and uphold guest service initiatives in line with Gulph Creek Hotels and Marriott standards.

Housekeeping Oversight

  • Guarantee that all guest rooms, public spaces, and staff areas meet cleanliness standards to ensure guest satisfaction and optimize revenue.
  • Supervise, train, and support room attendants, laundry staff, and housemen.
  • Ensure that housekeeping tasks are executed to the highest standards.
  • Deliver professional, efficient, and courteous service to guests.
  • Delegate daily responsibilities to housekeeping personnel.
  • Inspect and confirm that all rooms are assigned and serviced daily, providing coaching as necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Assist in staffing as needed.
  • Order supplies as directed by management.
  • Report maintenance issues to engineering for prompt resolution.
  • Focus on enhancing guest satisfaction, particularly for priority and VIP guests.
  • Foster a friendly, professional work environment through open communication.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of hotel rooms.
  • Support a regular deep cleaning schedule, maintaining a monthly planner for projects.
  • Assist in managing monthly linen inventory and weekly supply assessments.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and staff in a service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with Gulph Creek standards.
  • Exhibit high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Adhere to Gulph Creek standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and employees, ensuring quality control.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies for effective hotel operations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

Assist the General Manager and Operations Manager in overseeing staff, company objectives, and operational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is essential.
  • Must exhibit leadership qualities and be a collaborative team player.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English, including simple instructions and correspondence. Capable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings. Must communicate effectively with guests and staff for optimal property operations. Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to interpret data.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to anticipate and resolve practical problems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, reach above shoulder height, and lift objects as necessary. The role may require exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and 50 pounds frequently. Familiarity with various cleaning equipment is necessary.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE

Full-time position with a pay range of $16 to $16.50 per hour. Expected working hours are 40 per week.
