Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key member of the hotel team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service in all areas of the hotel. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and train housekeeping staff to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Training: Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, and manage housekeeping staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and quality.
  • Scheduling and Operations: Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage and efficient use of resources.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Partner with the Front Office Manager to manage inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies.
  • Lost and Found: Manage procedures for lost and found items, ensuring that guests' personal belongings are returned promptly and efficiently.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services, and maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two years of housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training or experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills: Strong problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and organizational abilities.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
Working Conditions

The Housekeeping Supervisor will be required to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility. They will also be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals and carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.

The successful candidate will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
