Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Inspector plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager and Operations Manager to uphold the cleanliness and hygiene of hotel facilities, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and staff. This position involves providing clear guidance and direction to room attendants, housepersons, and laundry staff daily. The Inspector is responsible for inspecting and approving all rooms as clean and ready for occupancy, adhering to the high standards set by Gulph Creek Hotels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Relations

  • Prioritize guest service as the core philosophy of operations.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to guest satisfaction by promptly addressing their needs.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations and satisfaction metrics.
  • Ensure hotel standards and services consistently deliver excellent guest experiences.
  • Implement guest service initiatives aligned with Gulph Creek Hotels and Marriott standards.

Housekeeping Oversight

  • Guarantee that all guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas meet established cleanliness standards to enhance guest satisfaction and optimize revenue.
  • Supervise, train, and support room attendants, laundry staff, and housemen.
  • Ensure that housekeeping tasks are executed with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
  • Provide courteous and prompt service to guests.
  • Delegate daily assignments to housekeeping personnel.
  • Conduct inspections to confirm all rooms are serviced and ready for guests, providing coaching as necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Assist in staffing where required.
  • Order supplies as directed by management.
  • Report maintenance issues to engineering for prompt resolution.
  • Focus on enhancing guest satisfaction, particularly for priority and VIP guests.
  • Foster a friendly and professional work environment through open communication.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of hotel rooms.
  • Support a regular deep cleaning schedule and maintain inventory of linens and supplies.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and staff in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per Gulph Creek standards, adapting to the hotel’s needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Adhere to Gulph Creek standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and employees, ensuring quality control.
  • Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies for effective hotel operations.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

Assist management in overseeing staff, aligning with company goals and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Must exhibit leadership qualities and be a collaborative team player.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English, including instructions and correspondence. Proficient in presenting information in various settings and communicating effectively with guests and staff. Competence in basic arithmetic and the ability to interpret data.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to anticipate and resolve practical problems efficiently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, reach above shoulder height, and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally. Proper lifting techniques are essential. Familiarity with various cleaning equipment is required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time position with a pay range of $16 to $16.50 per hour, expected to average 40 hours per week. Benefits include:
